Driving Change Through Cross-Sector Collaboration
The Education Alliance for Life Chances (EALC) leads system-wide transformation by bringing together education, health, care, and community partners across Bradford. These initiatives focus on long-standing challenges that affect children’s life chances — from SEND reform to workforce sustainability.
Current Priorities
By working across organisational boundaries, EALC supports place-based, evidence-informed solutions that embed change at the heart of schools and settings.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Transforming the SEND System Through Partnership
In March 2025, EALC’s Partnership Board identified SEND as its first system-wide priority. Bradford is pioneering a collaborative approach to address the national SEND crisis, with schools acting as hubs for coordinated support and reform.
Teacher Recruitment and Retention
A System-Wide Strategy to Strengthen the Education Workforce
EALC’s #TeamBradford campaign is focused on addressing teacher shortages by recruiting new talent, supporting diverse future leaders, and embedding cross-sector support roles that improve outcomes for pupils and staff alike.
