Schools Leading Local Change

In the Bradford District, some of the most powerful change is happening at community level – driven by schools, powered by data and shaped by local voices.

Our Act Locally partnerships bring together schools, public services, community organisations and researchers to co-design targeted responses to local priorities. Each area has its own challenges and strengths – and our work reflects that.

The Act Locally Model

This model is built on four core principles:

  1. Schools as anchor institutions – leading partnerships at the heart of communities
  2. Locally defined priorities – driven by lived experience and frontline insights
  3. Shared decision-making – through cross-sector convening partnerships
  4. Integrated, evidence-led action – informed by data and supported by CAER

Together, we create a shared Statement of Intent, access a flexible community budget, and design interventions tailored to local need – going beyond what’s already being delivered.
