Teacher Recruitment and Retention
Education leaders across Bradford consistently identify teacher shortages as one of the most urgent barriers to improving outcomes for pupils. EALC is supporting a coordinated response to build a strong, stable, and diverse local workforce.
Our first #TeamBradford campaign will focus on three key goals:
Recruiting the Next Cohort of Outstanding Teachers
A. Create a compelling local recruitment campaign for secondary schools.
B. Partner with Now Teach to attract career-changers into education.
C. Develop a Bradford-specific dataset of teachers and teaching assistants to better understand supply and demand.
Supporting Pupils and Families
D. Pilot School Nurse Support Workers (SNSWs) in secondary schools to offer targeted support.
E. Pilot Pupil Development Officers in primary schools to help address barriers to learning early.
Unleashing Diverse Talent in Teaching
F. Launch a Diverse Future Leaders Programme to champion inclusive leadership pathways and representation across the profession.
